Stopovers at pubs are a great alternative to campsites for overnight motorhome parking. Pub stopovers are dotted all over the country, Some are aware of the benefit of this idea and are listed in the Britstops Guide Book, but find one that isn’t and you have your very own stopover allowing you to sample their delicious food, warm welcome and great beer – what more could you need?
Most pubs with a car park are possible stopovers and phoning in advance to ask if it is possible is a great idea. The Camping and Caravanning Club Site at Dingwall
Situated just north of Inverness The Camping and Caravanning Club Site at Dingwall is a great start point if you’re doing the NC500, There is a large Tescos nearby with parking spaces for motorhomes, ideal for provisioning up before you start. Highly recommended!!

This campsite is on a working croft. Magnificent Highland cattle and sheep graze close by and you can buy freshly laid duck and hen eggs at the site shop along with most essentials. There are hardstanding pitches for caravanners and motorhomers with plenty of these pitches enjoying the views. You can go glamping at Skye campsite too. Two Camping Pods and Yurts provide cozy accommodation for those who perhaps fancy leaving their own units at home.

New for summer 2022, why not be the first to try our new pop-up campsite? You can set up camp in our four-acre wildflower meadow, half the meadow will be mown and the other half is left to the wildflowers and grasses. It’s just £15 per night for a tent and we have a brand new luxurious family-sized shower room for you to use too.
We allow motorhomes of all sizes, although due to the size of our island roads, any vans over 8m will struggle to access the beaches, beauty spots, and other island facilities.
