Hi, My name is Johnny Burr and I started Motorhoming at an early age – 10 years old! my father used to work for Mercedes Benz in Brentford, London (where the Mercedes Benz multi-story car park used to be along the elevated section of the M4, yes! that long ago!)
In their fleet of many vehicles was a, then brand new motorhome similar to the one below, with an over-cab double bed. As a family of 5 two adults and 3 kids, we would travel up to Scotland over a couple of days to visit the grandparents and cousins in Strathpeffer and Dingwall. I have very fond memories of summer holidays in and around Strath’, especially trout fishing in Strathconan, the snowy winters, and the many walks up the ‘Cats Back’!

These childhood memories lay dormant for years and were rekindled in 2018. I decide to hire a motorhome from a company in Glasgow, right next to the airport (Open Road Scotland)
All the excitement came flooding back when I picked up the Swift Escape and drove to Sainsbury’s to provision up and begin the NC500 and the Outer Hebrides – An unbelievable Experience!! I was Hooked !!
Currently, I’m “Motorhome Less” but that will change in the coming months
I started a Facebook group “Motorhome Touring Scotland” (that’s probably how you got here) in 2019 and also have a YouTube channel, but it’s impossible to keep that up to date when you aren’t touring! 😉
